Hi Paul,
I hope you all got back without too much trouble last night?
I received an email from the client and they were delighted with your performance. I have attached part of the mail below but I wanted to pass on my thanks onto you for all your hard work in the lead up to the event and on the night itself.
I guess the greatest praise I can give you for last night is simply to have observed how the general public and our hosts/guests reacted to the Roman characters and centurions.
The Roman characters, horn players and centurions were fantastic. I would say they performed far beyond our expectations and were friendly, efficient and pleasantly ubiquitous. I must chuckle though as I think some of the centurions may have travelled home in full costume. Just what someone may have made seeing a centurion walking towards them (after they've probably had one too many) must have made some question their sanity at that precise moment!
The costumes were amazing, so authentic, and everyone conducted themselves in a cheerful, professional manner which made the event such a success.

Many thanks to you and your soldiers for your help yesterday – did you see it on Granada? I think you all really added to the atmosphere so thanks for that – I’m hoping to make it an annual event, we just need to evaluate what we’ve raised and how it worked for us.

Hi guys,
Just a quick note to say a big thank you for the excellent tour you gave our sixth formers. They thoroughly enjoyed it and it fit very well with our day. The level of detail/knowledge mixed with the little comic touches and stories made an educational experience very entertaining. We will definately incorporate this day into our new AS syllabus for next year.

Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that we've had
some excellent feedback from teachers on the use of the impedimenta
(and the tours) over the last couple of weeks. Here's an example:
"The replica artefacts were actually more interesting and
gave a clearer picture of Roman life than bits of broken pottery.
The Roman soldier was superb. His delivery was entertaining and
the children learnt a lot."
So, hopefully, as word gets out about the package we have on
offer, we'll be able to see an increase in take-up of sessions.

John looked great! The children loved all
of the weapons and costumes. He started off quite strict, which
got their attention straight away. Then he was relaxed and funny,
the pupils were really involved.
John knew exactly how to address the year 6 audience, was extremely
knowledgeable and could answer all of the children’s questions.
I feel the pupils remembered the content better than they would
from a book or a video.
I think we would book a whole day next year.
